動物と人間が交流する究極の瞬間をフィルムに収めたアーティスト、
グレゴリー・コルベールの大規模な展覧会が日本にやってきました。
50点を超える大型写真作品のほか、60分の映像、
9分のショートフィルム2本が展示公開されています。
世界を巡回中であるこの作品展「ashes and snow」は
写真作品、映画、美術、小説、建築が一体となったプロジェクト。
彼の写真は自然のままで、デジタル加工や合成は全くありません。
手作りの和紙にセピア、そして琥珀色に刷り込んだ写真作品には一切の説明がなく
巨大な作品を目にした瞬間に様々なストーリーが心の中に生み出され、
見るものの感性に何かを語りかけています。

Gregorie Colbert's large-scale exhibition came to Japan.
His work puts the ultimate moment that the animal exchanges
with the person on the film.
A big photograph work that exceeds 50 points
is exhibited in this exhibition.
And, an image of 60 minutes and 9 minutes films have been exhibited.
"ashes and snow" is a work exhibition to which it is
going to around the world, and the project t
hat the photograph work, the movie, the art,
the novel, and construction combine.
There are completely neither a digital processing nor a synthesis
as his photograph is nature.
There is no explanation in the photograph work at all.
Various stories are invented by handmade Japanese paper
in the mind momentarily at the time of saw
the huge work stenciled to sepia and the amber grow.
And, it talks about something to the sensibility though it sees.

会場となるノマディック美術館は、ashes and snow専用の移動美術館で、
ニューヨーク・ピア54、カルフォルニア州サンタモニカのピアを経て、
東京・お台場に造られました。
建築家・坂茂氏によって設計されたこの美術館は鉄製貨物コンテナと
再利用できる資材で作られた広さ5,300平方メートルのユニークな建築物です。

A Nomadic Museum that becomes a hall is a movement museum
only for ashes and snow.
It was made in Tokyo/Odaiba through New York Pia 54
and Pia of Calfolnia state Santa Monica.
This museum designed by the architect and Sacashige is a
unique building of 5,300 square meters in the area
built with the plastron freight container
and materials that can be recycled.

彼の作品は人間と動物との距離感があまりにも近すぎて、
常に人間として生きていることを意識しているわたしたちは
彼の作品に瞬時に惹き込まれます。
人間も同じように、地球から生まれた動物のひとつであるということ、
そして古代からの友人のように、人間と動物との交流の瞬間を美しく捉えた
写真と映像には誰もが心をうたれることでしょう。

The distance feeling of human and the animal is very near his work.
We who consider alive as human can instantaneously come to his work.
