腕時計の電池交換待ちのため本屋に立ち寄った。
そこで手に取った1冊の本。

「求めない」　加島祥造

衝撃的だった。

　　　　　　　　　　　　求めない――すると、本当に必要なものが見えてくる
　　　　　　　　　　　　求めない――すると自由になる
　　　　　　　　　　　　求めない――すると心が広くなる
　　　　　　　　　　　　求めない――すると今じゅうぶんに持っていると気づく
　　　　　　　　　　　　求めない――すると今持っているものがいきいきとしてくる
　　　　　　　　　　　　求めない――するとそれでも案外生きてゆけると知る

求めないと、現状の生活がいかに豊かであるかを知ることが出来る。
求めないと、必要以上のモノに囲まれていることを知ることが出来る。
心が求めないようになると、心がキレイになる。
おのずと、行動もキレイになる。
そんな気持ちになれる気がする。

求めてしまって後悔することも多い。
求めすぎてしまって自己嫌悪に陥ることも。

ここで言う「求めない」というのは
まったく何も意欲のないという意味ではなく
「欲」があることを前提に
人間は欲深いということを前提に
それ以上を「求めない」ということなんだと思う。

今の自分、変えなければいけない自分・・・
軸を取り戻すために
頭ではわかっていることを
心にもちゃんと伝達できるように
この本を一人静かな時間に熟読するのもいい。

今の自分の考えが投射されたなと
これで何かに気づき
現状を抜け出せるかもしれない。

The Story Of Cat

これは、私の母が4年ほど前に書いた記事です。
動物医療の大切さ、そして飼い主がいかにペットの病気と
向き合うことが大切かということを考えていただけたら幸いです。

This is the report which my mother wrote about four years ago.
Please consider it to be the importance of animal medical treatment
how an owner can fight with a pet's illness.

久しぶりに天気がいい。
暖かな陽射しを浴びながらネコが見繕いをしている。
近所のイヌは散歩に出かけるようだ。
ところで、我が家のネコは来年3月で13歳になる（2003年）。
テレビ番組を担当していた頃、取材で訪れた動物管理事務所から貰ってきた。
運命は一瞬で決まる。
所内を走り回り、好奇心旺盛にこちらを観察している
大きな目に魅せられ、一週間後には我が家の家族となった。
そしていま、ぶら下がったおもちゃに向かって1メートルもジャンプしていた若猫も、
ふさふさと柔らかだった毛には白髪が混ざり、
クークーと鼾をかいて眠る老猫になった。

9月下旬、帰宅するとなにやら様子がおかしい。
部屋中に吐いたあとがある。
ネコは２階で口から泡を出し、焦点の定まらない目で座り込んでいた。
大急ぎで病院に連れて行き即入院、
3日間にわたってレントゲンや血液検査などを行なった結果、
膵炎であることがわかった。
それからずっと最速帰宅、車で30分ほどの病院で
点滴やステロイド剤、消炎剤の注射を受け続けた。
12月に入り、ようやく元気を取り戻し通院も終わった。
足掛け4ヶ月、診察と150本以上の注射に耐えたネコも偉いが、
数十万の支出に耐えた飼い主も偉い（つまり私のこと！）、
と思える余裕もやっとでてきた。

口がきけない動物が病気になったらどうするのか。
法律的にはただの「器物」でも、飼い主にとっては家族と同じ。
ネコを飼い始めた時、一番心配したのはここのところ。
信頼してかかれるホームドクターを見つけることだった。
知人から紹介してもらった我が家のホームドクターは、
インフォームドコンセプトを大事にし、飼い主に治療の選択肢を示してくれる。
今回の病気についてもリスクを含めて詳細な説明と相談をしたうえで方針を決めた。
動物も高齢化が進み、白内障や糖尿病の患者（患ネコ？）が増えている。
命あるものを終生大事にみるのは当たり前、
でもそれは長い年月に及びとても大変なことだ。

アニマルセラピーやコンパニオンアニマルという言葉がある。
何かとあわただしい現在、かれらはだた可愛がられるだけではなく、
人々の心を癒し、人生の伴侶としての役割をけなげに果たしてくれる。
この弱く、小さな存在にどれだけ多くの人が励まされ、慰められていることか。

今回、一番驚いたのは、自分が動転、オロオロうろたえたことだ。
そして、いかに無償の愛、無垢の歓びにこころ惹かれていたかを
思い知らされたことであった。

その後、ネコは膵炎から糖尿病をも患い
毎日のインシュリン注射が欠かせなくなりました。
膵炎が落ち着いてからしばらくして、容態が悪化、
瀕死の状態に陥り、輸血と集中治療を受け一命を取りとめました。
しかしそれから半年後の2004年、14年という長い生涯を終えました。
闘病生活は2年にも及び、私は最後にこう言いました。
「お疲れ様。ありがとう」

It is fine weather after a long time.
The cat is preparing the lie of hair basking in warm sunlight.

Something is strange when it will go home late in September.
There is a trace of having vomited all over the room.
The cat took out the bubble from the mouth
and is sitting down by the hollow eye.
As a result of conducting Roentgen rays, a blood test, etc.
in a hospital, it turned out that it is pancreatitis.
Inspection reached also in three days.
The fastest going home is carried out and goes to this hospital
by car as long as 30 minutes.
Receiving intravenous drip and injection of the steroid and
the antiphlogistic was continued.
It entered in December, energy was regained at last,
and going to hospital regularly also finished.
The cat which was equal to medical examination
and injection of 150 or more is really great for about four months. However, I　was equal to expenditure of hundreds of thousands
so I am also great too!
The margin which can be regarded as such also came out at last.

When the animal which cannot speak becomes sick,
what should I do?
Even if legally called the "vessel", for an owner, it is the same as a family.
Since a cat comes to have lived in my home,
it was most worried whether the family doctor
who can trust and can be found.
I had a certain veterinarian introduced from a friend.
This veterinarian prizes an informed concept
and shows an owner the choice of medical treatment.
The plan was decided after holding detailed explanation
and consultations including a risk also about this illness.
Aging progresses and an animal's patient of a cataract
or diabetes is increasing.
It is natural to see a living thing carefully throughout life.
But when it attains to long years, it is difficulties very much.

There is the word "animal therapy" and "companion animal."
They are not only loved now when time passes busily every day.
People's heart is relieved and a role of a companion
of life is given sure enough bravely.
Is it that many people are encouraged
by this weak and small existence, and which is comforted?
This time, it was most surprised that
I was frightened to death and confused.
And it was that how the heart is moved by gratis love
and pure joy considered, and it was told.

Then, the cat has suffered also from diabetes from pancreatitis.
A daily insulin injection started.
But after pancreatitis settled down, several months have passed
and condition lapsed into aggravation and a dying state.
Transfusion and intensive care were undergone
and a life was suspended.
Then the long whole life of 14 years was finished after half a year in 2004.
The long struggle against disease was two years.
I said at to him the end...
"Could it become easy at last? Thank you my love"

「人間と動物は調和しながら生きている」

動物と人間が交流する究極の瞬間をフィルムに収めたアーティスト、
グレゴリー・コルベールの大規模な展覧会が日本にやってきました。
50点を超える大型写真作品のほか、60分の映像、
9分のショートフィルム2本が展示公開されています。
世界を巡回中であるこの作品展「ashes and snow」は
写真作品、映画、美術、小説、建築が一体となったプロジェクト。
彼の写真は自然のままで、デジタル加工や合成は全くありません。
手作りの和紙にセピア、そして琥珀色に刷り込んだ写真作品には一切の説明がなく
巨大な作品を目にした瞬間に様々なストーリーが心の中に生み出され、
見るものの感性に何かを語りかけています。

"Human and the animal are alive with harmonize "
　
Gregorie Colbert's large-scale exhibition came to Japan.
His work puts the ultimate moment that the animal exchanges
with the person on the film.
A big photograph work that exceeds 50 points
is exhibited in this exhibition.
And, an image of 60 minutes and 9 minutes films have been exhibited.
"ashes and snow" is a work exhibition to which it is
going to around the world, and the project t
hat the photograph work, the movie, the art,
the novel, and construction combine.
There are completely neither a digital processing nor a synthesis
as his photograph is nature.
There is no explanation in the photograph work at all.
Various stories are invented by handmade Japanese paper
in the mind momentarily at the time of saw
the huge work stenciled to sepia and the amber grow.
And, it talks about something to the sensibility though it sees.

会場となるノマディック美術館は、ashes and snow専用の移動美術館で、
ニューヨーク・ピア54、カルフォルニア州サンタモニカのピアを経て、
東京・お台場に造られました。
建築家・坂茂氏によって設計されたこの美術館は鉄製貨物コンテナと
再利用できる資材で作られた広さ5,300平方メートルのユニークな建築物です。

A Nomadic Museum that becomes a hall is a movement museum
only for ashes and snow.
It was made in Tokyo/Odaiba through New York Pia 54
and Pia of Calfolnia state Santa Monica.
This museum designed by the architect and Sacashige is a
unique building of 5,300 square meters in the area
built with the plastron freight container
and materials that can be recycled.

彼の作品は人間と動物との距離感があまりにも近すぎて、
常に人間として生きていることを意識しているわたしたちは
彼の作品に瞬時に惹き込まれます。
人間も同じように、地球から生まれた動物のひとつであるということ、
そして古代からの友人のように、人間と動物との交流の瞬間を美しく捉えた
写真と映像には誰もが心をうたれることでしょう。

The distance feeling of human and the animal is very near his work.
We who consider alive as human can instantaneously come to his work.

One of the animals where human appeared similarly from the earth too.
And, the photograph and the image where the moment
of the exchange of human and the animal is beautifully caught
are like an ancient friend.
Everyone is stricken the mind.

「つねに私は自然の一部である」

グレゴリーコルベールが約15年間にわたり取り組んできたプロジェクト
「ashes and snow」の創作活動においての始まりについてグレゴリーは
「古代の人々が残してきた洞窟の壁画をみても分かるように、
人類はずっと前から自然との対話をしてきた。
3万年前に人類が自然に接した気持ちと同じように、自然を敬う気持ち、
そして人間と動物の関係を内側から捉えていきたい」と語ります。

"I am always a part of nature."

Gregorie talks about the start in the creation activity of project
"ashes and snow" on which Gregorecolbal has worked for about 15 years. ｢The human race has talked naturally a long time ago as
understood even if the wall painting of the cave
that ancient people have left is seen.
I want to catch the relation between feelings that respect nature
and the person and the animal from the inside just like
feelings that the human race naturally touched 30,000 years ago. ｣

1960年、カナダ・トロント生まれ。
グレゴリー・コルベールの活動は、パリで社会問題を題材にした
ドキュメンタリー映画の制作から始まる。
その後映画制作から芸術写真へと転向し、1992年には初の個展を
スイスのエリゼ美術館で行い、その後の約10年は作品をいっさい発表せずに、
世界各国約40カ国以上訪れ、人間と動物の交流を描いた作品を撮影。
2002年、イタリアのベネチア・アーセナルでashes and snowを開催。
その後、カリフォルニア州サンタモニカでの展示会後、東京・お台場での開催が決定する。今後のashes and snowとノマディック美術館はこれからも芸術的に進化していく。

Born in 1960, Canada/Toronto
Gregore Colbert's activity starts from the production of the
documentary movie that makes social issues a theme in Paris.
It converts from the filmmaking afterwards to the art photograph,
and the first one-man show is held in the
Erize Museum in Switzerland in 1992,
and about 40 countries or more in every country
in the world are visited without announcing the work at all,
and it takes a picture of the work that draws the exchange
of man and the animal for about ten years afterwards.
"ashes and snow" is held in Venezia Arsenal in Italy in 2002.
Afterwards, the exhibition in Santa Monica, California is ended,
and holding with Tokyo/Odaiba is decided.
Hereafter, "ashes and snow" in the future and
a Nomadic Museum will evolve artistically.

日本とお隣同士の国、韓国。
しかし全く別の文化を持つ、元気な国。
ここ１年で何度も訪れました。
今回は皆さんに、韓国・ソウルの魅力をお伝えしてみようかと思います。
ほんの一部しかご紹介できませんが、
少しでもソウルの雰囲気を味わっていただけたら幸いです。

South Korea is a neighboring country in Japan
and has culture completely different from Japan.
There is also a town which does not sleep for 24 hours.
I visited Seoul repeatedly in one year recently.
I tell you charm of Seoul-South Korea.
Please enjoy the report of Seoul, although only a part can be introduced.

まずは私の大好きな町、仁寺洞～インサドン(인사동)。
ソウルの骨董通りとでも言いましょうか・・・。
鐘路二街の四つ辻から北へ1キロほど続く通りに陶磁器、
韓紙工芸や刺繍など韓国の工芸品店が集まっています。
有名な陶工や画家たちの作ったギャラリーで韓国画や版画なども見られ、
韓国らしさを味わえる通りです。

First of all, I introduce the favorite town named Insadong.
I think this place is a kind of curio.
The stores of the handicraft of South Korea, such as pottery,
a South Korean paper craft and embroidery
have gathered as it continues from the 4 crossings of
a Jongno2-ga station to north as 1km.
In this town, you can see the South Korean drawing, a print, etc
by the gallery which famous potters and painters made.
It is as the ability to taste South Korean-likeness.

仁寺洞でお勧めの食事処は「寺同麺屋～サドンミョノク(사동면옥Ⅰ)」
こちらでは、マンドゥ（餃子）が有名です。
しかし私は、このお店のチヂミが大好き！

A restaurant recommended in Insadong is "SADOMMYONOKU."
This restaurant is very famous for Chinese meat dumpling.
But I like CHIJIMI of this restaurant!

同じ通りに「サムジキル～(쌈지길)」と呼ばれる
２００４年にオープンした総合文化空間があります。

地下２階、地上４階の建物の中には、雑貨、小物、洋服からカフェ、
食堂まで60近くのセンスある店舗が入っています。
これらのお店は、韓国固有の伝統工芸品を現代的なデザインに
アレンジしたお店が多く、伝統の街・仁寺洞にあって古きを訪ね、
新しきを知ることのできる場所として日本の観光客からはもちろん、
現地の韓国人からも大変人気のスポットです。
特にお勧めなのは、巾着袋。
伝統生地で作られた巾着は、見た目も美しく便利。
私のお気に入りは、ハンボク（韓服）と呼ばれる伝統衣装を作って残った、
はぎれなどを接ぎ合せて作るカラフルな巾着で、
ポジャギを現代風にアレンジしたものだそうです。

In the building with two stories beneath ground level

This arranges POJAGI in modern style.

ソウルへ行くと、必ず立ち寄る場所、
江南エリアの狎鴎亭～アックジョン（압구정）にある
現代百貨店（ヒュンダイ　デパート）。
ここでお土産のお菓子などを買います。
下の写真左が、お気に入りの巾着袋。
右は、一般的なお菓子。

There is a place which I certainly visit to Seoul.
It is a HYUNDAI department store in Apgujeong of the Kang-Nam area. I buy the some sweets as a souvenir.
The lower photograph left is a favorite drawstring bag.
The right is common sweets.

韓国のお土産と言えば、ちょっと珍しいお菓子があります。
「クルタレ」という、宮中菓子（写真下）で、
飴を細く伸ばして、中に胡桃やピーナッツを入れてぐるぐる巻きにしたもの。
ちょっとクセになります。
先ほどご紹介した、仁寺洞で実演販売しています。

If it is called a South Korean souvenir, there are interesting sweets.
It is the Imperial Court confectionery called "KKULTARAE"
A tradition court cake.(Under a photograph)
What lengthened the candy thinly, and put in
wound the walnut and the peanut around inside.
It is delicious and grows into a habit.
Demonstration sale is carried out in Insadong
which the point introduced.

そして狎鴎亭（アックジョン）と言えば、ロデオ通りです。
日本で言うと、原宿・表参道のような場所でしょうか・・・。
お洒落で、ちょっと高級な物が売っていたり、
近くには芸能事務所が多いことから、観光客が絶えません。

And there is a famous place said as a Rodeo-Street in Apgujeon area. When it says in Japan, it is a place like Harajuku
or Omote-sandou in Tokyo.
There are a high-class store puts eaves in a row.
Also that area has many entertainments offices.
So, many tourists are visiting.

このエリア、明洞（ミョンドン）よりかは年齢層が高い気がします（笑）
デザイナーが個人で経営するお店などがたくさんあるので、
個性溢れるオリジナルの商品に出会えます。
そして、芸能人など流行に敏感な人たちが集まってくる高級街として知られています。

I feel that an age group is higher than Myong-dong for this area.
Since there are many stores which a designer manages individually,
it can meet with the original goods with
which it is full of individuality.
And it is known as a high-class town in which people
sensitive to fashion, such as an entertainer.

ドラマ等で有名なカフェもあり、週末の午後はたくさんの人で賑わいます。
この辺りには、現代百貨店の他に、ギャラリア百貨店もあります。

There is also a cafe famous for a drama etc.
and it is crowded with many people in the afternoon of a weekend.
A Gallalia department store is also around here.

ソウル市は、漢江という大きな川を境に江北・江南に分かれています。
どちらも良さがあり、違った楽しみ方が出来るというのが
魅力的だなと思っています。
そして、何度行っても新しい発見があり、
ちょっと３日くらいの旅行には最高です。

Seoul is divided into Kang-Hoku and Kng-Nam
bordering on a big river called Hang-gan.
The ease of both thinks it attractive that it is the method
of the different pleasure can be done.
And even if it visits how many times, there is new discovery
and it is slightly the best for the travel for about three days.

ソウルまでは、羽田から金浦空港までが近くてお勧めです。
個人的にはアシアナ航空が好きですね。
機内食が美味しくて、エコノミーでも足元がゆったりとしています。
アシアナ航空は、スターアライアンスに加盟しているので、
成田第２ターミナルのユナイテット航空ラウンジが利用出来ます。

I think that from Haneda to Kimpo Airport may be near to go to Seoul. And I like Asiana Airlines.
An in-flight meal is delicious and the step is also carrying out
the economy class seat calmly.
Since Asiana Airlines has joined in Star Alliance,
it can use the UNITED aviation lounge of the terminal-2 of Narita.

東京からソウルまで約２時間、
息抜きに是非遊びに行ってみてください。

Prague、Czech Republic

今日は、チェコ共和国のプラハ歴史地区をご紹介します。
プラハの旧市街は、1992年世界文化遺産に登録されました。

I introduce the Prague history area in Czech Republic.
The old city in Prague was registered
into the world's cultural heritage in 1992.

ヴルタヴァ（モルダウ）川と中部ヨーロッパの大動脈だった
ラベ（エルベ）川の合流点から南へ30km、
首都プラハは14世紀当時の、美しい町並みがそのまま残っています。
プラハ出身の有名人には、フランツ・カフカ、スメタナ、ドヴォルザークなどがいます。

As for Prague, the capital of Czech Republic,
the beautiful rows of houses at the time of the 14th century
remain in a 30km place to south from the juncture of a
VURUTAVA (MORUDAU) river and the LABE (ELBE) river
which was a main artery of central part Europe.
The celebrity of the native of Prague requires
Franz Kafka, Smetana and Dovoruzaku etc.

旧市街地はバロック様式、ルネッサンス様式、ゴシック様式など、
時代の異なる建築物が取り囲む広場はまさしく「建物の博物館」です。

There is a building with which styles,
such as a baroque style, a Renaissance style,
and a Gothic style, differ from a time
in the old city ground. The open space of an old city is like
"a museum of a building."

プラハで最も有名な天文時計は、1490年ごろに作られました。
旧市庁舎に飾られた『プラネタリウム』と『カレンダリウム』、
ふたつの文字盤をもつ天文時計は天動説を反映したものです。

The astronomical clock most famous for Prague was made around 1490. As for a "planetarium" and "calendar RIUMU",
the astronomical clock decorated in the
old city Government building has two dials.
Moreover, an astronomical clock reflects Ptolemaic system.

そしてこの天文時計には、毎正時に訪れるとよいでしょう。
広場にある有名な天文時計が鳴り響き、仕掛け人形が顔を出しはじめます。
しかしその光景は不思議で、死神人形の合図とともに
ゆっくりとキリストの12使徒が顔を出すのです。

And the bell during per hour resounds and,
as for this astronomical clock, an instigator form begins to show up. However, the spectacle is wonderful and 12 apostles
of Christ attend death slowly with the signal of a death(Reaper)doll.

王宮や修道院・聖堂がある西岸地区と、ヴァルタヴァ川をはさんで
旧市街がひろがる東岸地区の間には、石造りの橋「カレル橋」がかけられました。

The stone-made bridge "Charles Bridge" was built
between the west area with a king's palace,
or a monastery and a church, and the east area
where the old street spreads across a VARUTAVA river.

端の両側の欄干に並ぶ30体の聖人像は有名で、
日本にキリスト教を伝えた聖サンフランシスコ・ザビエルの像もあります。
夜にはプラハ城がライトアップされ、美しい景色を見ることが出来ます。

The statue of saints of 30 bodies is located in a line
with the railing of the both sides of an end.
The image of Saint San Francisco Xavier
who carried Christianity is also in Japan.
Prague Castle is illuminated at night and
a very beautiful scene can be seen.

カレル橋を渡ると街のシンボル、プラハ城へ辿り着きます。
